My artistic journey began in 2003 when I attended a visual poetry class to fulfill a long-held dream of learning how to paint. With no background in the arts, I was starting from square one and, although rather intimidated by my inexperience, I was hooked from the very beginning. I've discovered I can use colour to work spontaneously in an intuitive way … allowing me to communicate who I am without words. I paint for the total pleasure it gives me to pour my passions, impossible to verbalize but instantly viewable, onto a canvas and to share that experience with others.
I feel pride in witnessing a piece of my art speak to someone…..to reach inside them. That allows me to take comfort in letting a piece of myself go.
